Our Mission

Our mission here is to share the wonderful history of Pompton Lakes with all our residents and friends. Pompton Lakes, New Jersey is a wonderful place to live and work and its history is both fascinating and educational. 

The Pompton Lakes Historical Preservation Commission goal is "to safeguard the heritage of Pompton Lakes by preserving the resources within the town which reflect its cultural, social, economic and architectural history."

Much of this information has been provided by the Pompton Lakes Centennial Book published by the borough in 1995 on the 100th anniversary of the incorporation of Pompton Lakes.

Please take the time to read and enjoy the cultural history of Pompton Lakes, New Jersey and pass it on to your friends and relatives. Many thanks to all who made the Centennial book possible. They are acknowledged whenever possible in these pages.
