Lutheran Worship Services were begun in 1948 after determining Pompton Lakes was the "hub" of this area of North Jersey.

The present church edifice was dedicated in 1957 and was modified in 2003.

The outstanding feature of this contemporary building is the Hughes Memorial Window facing the Turnpike. This mosaic glass (not stained glass) window, fashioned by craftsmen in Chartres, France, was the first of its kind in the eastern part of the United States. The symbols in it carry out the message and theological meaning of the church's name: "Incarnation".

There have been changes made that will be reflected in the new photo.
